4th Annual Harmony and Desire Shree Shanti Secondary School Scholarship Program
We are proud to announce the 4th Annual Harmony and Desire Shree Shanti Secondary School Scholarship.
Secondary education in Nepal is neither compulsory nor fully funded, making school costs a significant burden for many families, especially in a country where 25% of the population lives below the poverty line, earning less than $1 per day. The faculty and staff at Shree Shanti Secondary School are deeply committed to providing quality education and empowering students to break the cycle of poverty in their community. These students are bright and ambitious; their essay submissions over the past two years have been truly impressive. With just a bit more support, they could excel even further, bringing their educational dreams within reach. Grassroots programs like this play a crucial role in bridging social inequalities in Nepal.
This year's topic is:
"The Effects of Climate Change in Nepal"
The winners will receive:
1st Prize: $200
2nd Prize: $150
3rd Prize: $100

Here is an excerpt from Punam B.K.'s winning essay: (Please remember that English is their second language)
"Politics stands for the agreement between the people so that they can live together happily. Women is also important for the politics so that they can make the equal rights to both the men and women . suppose in a family if only a men are taking the decisions then that family cannot be well settled. But of in the same family both the men and women are making their decisions together and having the equal rights then only the family will be well living. Same like this if the politics have the support of both men and women than the rules and other agreements can be effective for both the men and women welfare and can be live together happily."
