We are proud to announce the 4th Annual Harmony and Desire Shree Shanti Secondary School Scholarship!
Secondary education in Nepal is neither compulsory nor entirely free. Secondary school costs can be an tremendous hardship where 25 percent of the population lives beneath the poverty line earning less than 1 US dollar per day.
The faculty and staff at Shree Shanti Secondary School are dedicated to providing quality education to their students and helping them break the cycle of poverty in their community. The students are bright and ambitious. We have been so impressed with the essay submissions from the last two years. With access to a little more resources there is little doubt that they would excel and be able to achieve their dreams by furthering their education. Grass roots programs like these will go a long way in helping to close the gap in social inequality in Nepal.
